Leyhill - About Us

News - 2007

Some brief case studies

In late 2006 ley hill solutions was asked to review the complete inventory management system of the oldest Auction house in America – Samuel T. Freeman & Co of Philadelphia. Following an intensive review, new procedures were put in place and a major reassessment of property held in store undertaken. Looking at processes in the auction house we found very committed people trying to operate some outdated processes which did not provide effective systems of managing customers property brought in for auction. Freeman’s are now implementing our recommendations and looking forward to a successful series of sales in 2007.

Using our PRINCE II project management skills we have worked with Symbian and UIQ to separate a major customer database in the UK and Sweden. The database needed splitting into two due to a restructuring of the businesses and this involved ley hill solutions project managing the technical specialists working on the database changes and planning the shut-down and go-live of the new databases in both locations.

A garden machinery company – Briant’s of Risborough approached ley hill solutions to assist with the refurbishment of their main storage warehouse which needed complete re-flooring and re-racking to a very short timescale. ley hill solutions developed the new plans for the layout in the warehouse, arranged sub-contractors to lay new flooring, install racking and improve health and safety with the installation of mobile platform ladders for the warehouse staff to work safely at height.
