Graham has worked in the process improvement and quality management arena for over 20 years, a proportion of this was spent within the Post Office and Royal Mail, but more recently he has applied his experience and skills to help other businesses improve their performance.
During a successful career in UK Industry of over 25 years he has held a variety of roles ranging from operational management to having responsibility for strategic development activity.
In his last 3 years with The UK Post Office he designed and managed the Business Excellence self-assessment programme, which was implemented across 21 Business Units involving nearly 220,000 people.
Graham has had significant involvement with both the British Quality Foundation (BQF) and the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). Working with these organisations in roles ranging from facilitating the BQFs Founder Sponsor group to develop and maintain key relationships with other members or assisting the EFQM to review and refine the European Quality Award and Levels of Excellence processes.
In 2005 Graham successfully assisted a company in Spain to become the first organisation in Europe to achieve both the Commitment 2 Excellence and Recognised 4 Excellence levels of recognition with the EFQM through a structured improvement programme.
Business continuity and risk management ensure businesses identify and address issues which might cause them to fail and since early in 2006 Graham has promoted this topic both locally and nationally, though his work as the vice-chair of the British Quality Foundation’s Business Continuity Group.
Graham applies his knowledge of Managements Systems (ISO9001 / 14001) to many types of business to help them achieve improvements and has been a Senior Assessor for the UK Business Excellence Award programme for a number of years. During his time as an assessor he has been fortunate enough to have seen real excellence in action by leading assessor teams for two UK award winning companies.
