What is IIP?
Investors in People is a flexible Standard, which organisations can adapt for their own requirements, designed to improve performance through people. IIP UK manages its development, marketing, promotion and quality assurance.
The IIP Standard is based on three key principles:
- Plan – Developing strategies to improve organisational performance
- Do – Taking action to improve organisational performance
- Review – Evaluating the impact on organisational performance
These principles are broken down into 10 indicators. If an organisation meets all10 it is awarded IIP recognition, subject to re-assessment within 3 years.
There are currently over 30000 recognised organisations in the UK, and IIP UK has licence agreements with 20 other countries.
As of May 2009 IIP has been re-launched as a framework with a possible extra 152 evidence requirements, a more tailored approach based around your business priorities (called Your Choice), and with the option of seeking enhanced recognition to Bronze, Silver and Gold IIP levels.
